Interesting that sites like wikileaks (a crucial service) will be blocked as well.

  2. MrAussiebogan on June 26, 2010 at 11:48 am

@jimboot 100% right u c they must know that we arnt stupid any more we have the internet as u said to crosscheck they dont like that, they want us glued to the tv sets listening to what they tell and report us, its all brain washing, if they had it their way i bet they would have disconnect the internet yesterday… people power will always prevail over goverments etc theres too many of us,

  3. jimboot on June 26, 2010 at 11:57 am

@MrAussiebogan The good thing about the net is that you can cross check all those things and make up your own mind. We don’t need to rely on main stream media to filter things for us.

  4. MrAussiebogan on June 26, 2010 at 12:54 pm

@jimboot true, ive just been searching on youtube a variety of topics wich lead to other topics and boy to my understanding the whole worlds in 4 a rude shock, heres sum of what ive been lead onto, this thing about chemtrail, sum blokre speaking about how the government is trying to destroy the people and some un thingy rather complicated but it has something to do with communism and un agencies controlling and taking over, hmmmm

  5. jimboot on June 26, 2010 at 1:54 pm

@MrAussiebogan They’ve just shelved it as of last week. However if they win the next election prepare to see it come back out.

  6. MrAussiebogan on June 26, 2010 at 2:26 pm

@jimboot m8 ive only by accident stumbled over this topic and watched your video, and 100% agree with every word that came out of ur mouth…. two many beurocrats trying to dictate to us what we can and cant view online etc, this isnt libia we arnt under col gudafis rule, or in north korea, my god whats haPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY., mean while roads crumble away high ways in sections are only 2 way where it should minimally be dual highway even 3 to 4 lanes each way, hospitals etc

  7. MrAussiebogan on June 26, 2010 at 3:24 pm

australia is turning communist, you wont be able to fart in public soon without getting a fine.

RC contents will be blocked . 10 years down the track our kids will grow up with out a mind of their own. The Government will say this group ,website are terrorist. You kids will ask why and the government will say because we believe so . Imagine the British did this during Gandhi’s time in India . We should have the right to see info from website and have our own judgment .Because reading, seeing and visiting websites that is RC is a right ( not the kiddie porn)

Some things have changed since this video. Xenophon has changed his mind and is against the filter. But the ALP’s stupid idea of filtering is still ongoing over ayear later, sadly. It is the silliest idea since the oz card of the 80s. It seems that every 20 years a Labor government conjures up a policy so stupid that rusty activists like me come out the woodwork.

  10. abetterplayer on June 26, 2010 at 5:31 pm

What the fuck are you talking about ? I’ve studied data comms and have an infosys degree and i’ve never heard of what you are talking about.

  11. abetterplayer on June 26, 2010 at 5:48 pm

This guy is spot on, 100% accurate. Well Labor was fun for a term. Everyone i know who voted Labor now regrets doing it. No one wants and internet filter, a my schools website or an ETS. Labor it’s time to go.

  14. Pxm78 on June 26, 2010 at 7:32 pm

    Deer Jim Stewart,

I fear that sending a letter, or even yet, an email to such MPs may well get ignored, deleted, or.. how to say.. “Filtered” as “Inappropriate Content”.

I agree we have to many damn ministers in this country but maybe some people would be interested in an internet minister willing to spend 152Mill on a malicious software filter or maybe even put the money in the hands of some young talented programmers to track down on-line predators

  16. fretalian on June 26, 2010 at 8:53 pm

@DouglasASean fuck internet ministers we dont need them!

  17. DouglasASean on June 26, 2010 at 9:44 pm

Please view the below video and post it in as many places as possible……

    “Say No to Internet Censorship”

    Very Very important

The internet is for everyone……… and is the last free and truthful thing we have, dont let them take it !!!!!!!

  19. neozzyinu on June 26, 2010 at 10:47 pm

otherwise stay with whoever your provider is pay them money and expect your internet browsing to be filtered and controlled by government lowlifes.. there are ways around these filters and setting up your own broadband service is the best way to go..

  20. neozzyinu on June 26, 2010 at 11:13 pm

ive had my own service now for over 3 years, i dont pay a cent for my broadband service, forget other providers become your own and do what ever you like online without do gooders telling you what you can and cannot look at online, the sky is the limit.. check it out and set it up .. you will be very very glad you did and its so easy to do as any computer shop sells all the equipment to do it yourself..

  21. neozzyinu on June 26, 2010 at 11:40 pm

the only way these filters work is through your current service provider who will be required to blacklist many websites so you cannot access them, this is why you should setup your own broadband service, you control what you do online not any1 else, the internet is the internet and should not be policed because some do gooder doesnt like what hwe or she sees, fuckthem.. and fuck their internet filter

  22. neozzyinu on June 27, 2010 at 12:10 am

Governments policing the internet, an internet filter.. lmfao… well goodluck, there are so many ways around these filters, the best way is to set up your own broadband service which i have done going on 3 years now, become your own intrnet service provider, save your self thousands of dollars a year ansd stick it up the government and tese lowlifes who want to controll what you do online

  23. love2punk on June 27, 2010 at 1:04 am

My Thoughts are, Aus Govt own a large portion of Telstra, if they don’t level the playing field in the ISPs area, they are going to lose they’re income from telstra customers to other ISPs that don’t have closed ports and filters. I work in IT and we hear complaints about telstra contracts and stuff they can’t do on the net without it costing them a fortune. I am not saying this is true its just a thought. It is true money is everything and we can’t live without it. That sux.
